This year, a move to the Avocado League and beefier competition is in place. Are the Eagles up to the task? Last year they only gave up a solid 17.6 points per game, but only 2 starters return on defense, David Shatzer at S and Jeremy Garner at DE. The 2007 offense was pretty potent (34.7 points per game) and, well, it'll probably need to be again this year. 5 starters return including QB Eric Bowcock (played WR last year), FB Joel Jernigam, OL Micha Hodges, RB Andrew Nenow, and OL Zach Ayub. Coach Tony Corley knows that early success will be important to build confidence heading into league play. With a 7-3 JV team on the way to fill some of those gaps, a playoff spot is possible, but with Mission Hills and La Costa Canyon (who eliminated San Pasqual in last year's playoffs and should actually be even better this year) a league title may be out of reach.
