It appears that the Mariners may need to pound the ball, probably with Rafael Padilla, one of the leading rushers in '07, until new QB Joseph Geisregen can gain some game experience. Defensively, they'll be depending on LBs Mikhail Totaro, Justin Halfon, and Padilla, as well as S Danny White. Edgar Castillo, Edwin Mejia, Apollo Nestoras, and Kris Rocha will likely be seeing action on both sides of the ball, along the lines. The incoming JV team was only 1-9 last year, but many of the top sophomores were on the varsity team, which should help this program improve noticeably over the next couple of years.
