That meant two things were true, the offense could flat-out score and the defense really struggled. While a number of the top offensive players have graduated (including 2 1000-yard rushers), the Cardinals are looking to reload their running back stable with Carlton Callaway (over 600 yards last year), Jamal Fleming, and Crawford Wilkerson. While a new QB (Aaron Belton) might be a major factor on some teams, Lawndale doesn't seem to throw very much. It's difficult to tell whether or not the defense will improve greatly with 5 starters returning. A 5-4 JV team joins the ranks, which could fill some of the holes they had last year.
