The St. Mary's Panthers are in the process of reconstructing their football facilities. All practices will be off campus and every game with be played in the opponent's home turf. Nevertheless, the Panthers have 10 returning starters and a very successful 9-0 junior varsity squad to help bring success. Key players to watch include Jordan Wilder RB/SS, Jelani Rivera QB and Morgan Hanson OL/DL. Wilder was the Panthers leading 2007 rusher and Rivera returns as the team's starting quarterback. The coaching staff will have to overcome team-wide inexperience and its untested kicking game, but the team should have a strong running game and an athlete defense. Coach Ferrigno told us he was unsure what to expect his first season, but he will have a clear idea after three games.
