The hard work is paying off. The Rebels are beginning to develop a winning attitude that is necessary not only win but to become a stronger and faster team. Seventeen starters return this year including four 3-year starters. Jose Ramos QB/CB, James Armenta WR/SS, Blayne Davidson TE/DT, Russell Webster RB/LB and Julio Regla OT/DT are expected to lead the team toward a successful season. The off-season strength program has produced what could be the strongest and quickest South Rebels team in the last seven years. The 7-on-7 tournaments have been preparing the secondary skill positions while the linemen took home first place honors from Hume Lake. "Based on the strong finish we had last season, the off-season progress we've seen in the weight room, and the fact that we're returning nearly our entire team on both sides of the football, we expect to be very competitive in our league and in Division III of the Central Section this year," concluded Coach Wren. Nevertheless, the Rebels realize they must take one game at a time and that nothing about the future is absolute.
