Much of the issue was with the offense that only averaged 12.9 points per game. That, however, could be rectified a bit this fall with 9 returning starters. Two sophomore QBs saw action last year (Matthew Fernandez is favored to get the nod as the starter), while the main RBs have graduated. With the new experience at QB, Coach Chris Griego expects great improvement in the passing game. Defensively, he has some concerns about depth on this line (as is often the case with small schools) and overall experience. If the Mustangs can stay anywhere near the 17.8 points per game they allowed last year, then they should be a much improved ball club overall.
