Last year's team fared fairly well, placing 3rd in the tough Foothill League, and making a quarterfinal appearance in the Southern Section Northern Division playoffs. This year, the Vikings return seniors in some key positions (QB Dominic Solley, RB Jordan Thompson, WR/DB Mike Hernandez, and OL Cody Letz), but they will be largely a junior-based team. Despite that, you get a sense of optimism from Coach Larry Muir. "You can consider this a rebuilding year for us due to the number of underclassmen starting. However, the team will be very talented and, as a coaching staff, our job is to develop them as quickly as possible." It would not be surprising if that development took hold in November for the playoffs.
