The Sailors finished in a tie for 3rd place last year and advanced to the 2nd round of the Pac-5 playoffs. In 2008, this team is a real threat to win the league title as they return 14 starters (7 on each side of the ball). QB Andrew McDonald, RB/S Mike Helfrich, WR/CB JB Green, WR/LB Cecil Whiteside, and FB/LB Brandon Kula return at the skill positions. Up front, OLs Scott Ward and Peter Kinney return while CB/RB Danny Miller will be back to roam the secondary. The non-league schedule is the same as last year (many games appear to be longstanding series), which is not quite at the level of what you'd expect from a Pac-5 top team, aside from the LB Poly game.
