The Vikings finished 6-5 with a 2nd round playoff loss. This year, however, could be of nice promise. The front line starters for this team, but like most teams depth will be an issue. As of this writing, no starting QB or RB has been named, but Coach Dave Ponsford feels he has solid options. Robbie Beathard will be one of the players on whom La Jolla will lean on both offense and defense. Interestingly, although many might overlook special teams, the Vikings have a pair of kickers (well, one is technically a punter, Ethan Swerdlow and Lee Abeckop is the place kicker) that Coach Ponsford believes will play at the next level (Swerdlow is already committed to Lafayette). With a nice set of frontline starters being joined by a 9-1 JV team, La Jolla could be a factor in the race for the Western League title.
