Coach Bechtol told us that ten players (carrying 15 starting positions) return for 2008 Point Arena Pirates Football. The team will be centered around All-league linemen Zean Moore and John Belmontez. Receivers Willie Roles, Javier Chavez, Dylan Sundstrom and Arturo Rivera will charge the offense. The quarterback and backfield positions, however, are untested. The Pirates will work hard to get all sixteen team members up to speed by the opening of football season. "Despite losing a lot of the offensive firepower from last year, we have a solid group of returning players. There will be some adjustments made, but we still expect to be in the playoff hunt," concluded Bechtol.
