That was not a reality for Long Beach Poly, however, due to a non-league loss to another contender. With what the Jackrabbits return, though, 2008 looks pretty good for the guys in Long Beach. QB Morgan Fennell is getting looks from NCAA D-I programs, as is RB Melvin Richardson. Arguably, the most impressive unit on last year's team was the defense, and they should be exceptional again with returners Iuta Tepa (DE), Juwuan Brown (DT), George Daily-Lyles (LB), and Matthew Jones (LB)... all of whom were among the team leaders in tackles a year ago. Poly will be making their case for a bowl invitation in a big way when they take on national power Northwestern of Miami, FL on August 30th. |
