As of this writing, the next great Hart QB had yet to be selected between Spencer Souza and Darren Sholes. What is of a little bit of a concern is with the coaching staff. Although Coach Mike Herrington continues to lead the perennial powerhouse Indian program, another Herrington won't be around anymore. Rick Herrington has left the DC position at Hart and assumed the same with another "Herrington program" (Alemany). While we don't think it'll have a catastrophic impact on the Newhall campus, what impact it does have probably won't be overwhelmingly good, either. That said, we still think that the D will be pretty formidable, as will the entire team. The positions which Coach Herrington describes as his team's strengths (WRs, O-line, D-line, and LBs) should lay a foundation for a solid year, especially with the type of system that Hart runs... and if yet another QB plays at a D-I scholarship-earning level, don't be surprised if the Indians are once again major contenders for the Southern Section Northern Division title, as well as a CIF bowl berth.
