Outlook: The defending State D-II Champs, Oceanside High School, have a reason to be optimistic for a great 2008 campaign. His name is Jordan Wynn, and he's one of the top QBs in a state known for great signal callers. Lineman Brian Schwenke also surprised many by winning the defensive line MVP Honors at the Stanford Nike Camp. The Pirates will be very strong on defense (led by Schwenke), especially at linebacker and in the secondary. What could derail another San Diego Section title run may be a lack of depth on the O-line, as the Pirates will need to keep Wynn on his feet to stay in the hunt. "If we remain relatively injury free, we could be at the top again," remarks optimistic coach John Carroll.
