The Mustangs return 14 starters from their championship team. WR Cameron Richmond was last year's top receiver with 783 yards. Geno Escalante RB/LB is the top rusher for the championship team with 1401 rushing yards under his belt. He may be moved to the safety position in place of his linebacker duties. He also recorded a high number of tackles. LB Trevor Carranza produced 53 tackles with 41 assists and 6 sacks. Marquis Morrow RB/LB was last year's lead tackler with 103 tackles/assists and a team top 8 sacks. He also produced well as a receiver and rusher. Other players who will have an impact on the team are Kevin Hernandez OL and Myles King QB. King gained significant experience last year as a sophomore. The Mustangs also have a transfer from Bethel (Vallejo, CA). Demondre Boler WR/S was Bethel's 2nd highest receiver. Coach David Fishleigh told us that he had to replace his entire defensive line lost to graduation. "[We have a] very difficult preseason schedule with Vacaville and Deer Valley added, but that will make the team battle tested for a playoff run once again. With so many returning starters, we will be considered one of the favorites for the Division 3 section title again," wrote Coach Fishleigh.
