Outlook: Jordan High School of Los Angeles is ready to make a name for itself. Although schedule upgrades were made last year, the ante was hiked up even further for 2008. How does Esperanza, St. Bonaventure, and Mater Dei sound? Back to back to back? Last year, the Bulldogs didn't really have the team to handle such a schedule; that may have changed now. Jordan really has a lot coming back from their Eastern League championship team. Tough-guy QB James Boyd will have 3 talented WRs as targets, DeShawn Beck (Eastern League Offensive player of the year), Eric Hunter (3-time first team All-LA City Section selection), and Delvon Purvis (All-LA City Section selection). Wait... tough-guy QB? You bet. Boyd was selected as the Player of the Year in the LA City Section... on the DEFENSIVE LINE! He has committed to USC at D-End. The last time Jordan made a deep run in the playoffs was 2002, but that was in the Invitational Division. This time around, the Bulldogs have City Championship on their minds, but in order to really make it work you have to have the right attitude. Coach Elijah Asante sums up his teams' this way, "Our expectations are very high. We have one of the toughest non-league schedules in the country. We expect to win every competition we are involved in, Period!"
