In order to get decent competition, the Knights entered into the North Coast Section – Bay Football League a couple years ago. Unfortunately, the team traveled substantial distances for some of their games. With the expansion of the Central Coast Section, Peninsula – Ocean League, the Knights get better competition and don't have to travel so far for games. "There are some outstanding programs in this new league," said Coach Ron Kellner, "but I believe our team should be stronger than ever so I am very optimistic." King's Academy return a large group of starters from last year. Travis Johnson DE/G, Ben Sussman DB/TB and Ben Vidovich DT/C, among many others, could have a real impact this year. Coach Kellner told us that his Knights averaged 361 yards a game last year. They return eight of those offensive starters.
