"We are going to be very young [with] almost all underclass starters, so the future looks very bright," commented Coach Bob Sykes. Outstanding returning players include DI Recruits Sam Knapp WR, Russell Perkins CB, as well as Vaughn Smith RB and Rod Nash RB/WR. Knapp was the Knights' leading receiver last year. Of Smith, Coach Sykes wrote that he is one of the fastest players he has ever seen. There is a lot of superb talent coming up from the 2007 freshmen squad too. The Knights are going to have good ball control offensively and an aggressive defense. Sykes thought the team might be bigger on the line and more athletic than last year's group. When remarking on the youth and inexperience of his team, Coach Sykes noted, "I think we will be just fine, tough at first, but overall I'm excited about our possibilities."
